High Altitude Baking Tips

Baking at high altitudes (over 3500 ft) can be a challenge since the lower air pressure can cause baked goods to do peculiar things (e.g., rise too quickly or collapse)!  To prevent this and ensure great results, make the following adjustments when preparing our mixes:

For... Add...
Sunny Yellow Cake Add 3 Tbsp flour into dry cake mix. Prepare cake as directed on back of packaging using 3/4 cup milk, 1/2 cup oil and 3 eggs.
Alot'a Dots Cake Add 3 Tbsp flour into dry cake mix. Prepare cake as directed on back of packaging using 3/4 cup milk, 1/2 cup oil and 2 eggs.
Cheerful Chocolate Cake Add 3 Tbsp flour into dry cake mix. Prepare cake as directed on back of packaging using 1 cup milk, 2/3 cup oil and 2 eggs.
Fantastic Fudgy Brownies & Doubly Fudgy Brownies Use 9"x13" pan (do NOT use 8"x8" or 9"x9" pan). Add 3 Tbsp flour into dry brownie mix. Make brownies using 1/3 cup water, ¼ cup oil, 2 eggs. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 350°.
Spectacular Sugar Cookies & Marvelous Chocolate Chunk Cookies No adjustments needed. Prepare cookies as directed on back of packaging.
